This policy explains how we handle personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and the regulations of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
We do not operate a database of personal data. We do not keep player accounts, ticket records, payment details, or contact lists on this website.
Where personal data passes through our systems, it is processed transiently — used for the single purpose it was provided for, then discarded. It is not retained, profiled, sold, or reused for any other purpose.
SMS delivery on behalf of third parties. We act as a data processor for third-party organisations (including AfriMillions and its partners) to deliver SMS messages. In that role we process a recipient's mobile number, and the content of the message supplied to us, solely to route and deliver it through licensed telecommunications networks. We act only on the documented instructions of the third party that engaged us — that organisation is the data controller and is responsible for obtaining your consent and for the content of the message.
Website analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site. This involves technical data such as pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, and a cookie identifier. It is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.
Messages you send us. If you contact us directly, we process what you send us only to respond to you.
Under section 25 of the NDPA, we rely on the following lawful bases: your consent, where you have opted in to receive SMS messages or to non-essential analytics cookies; performance of a contract, where processing is necessary to deliver a service you or the controller requested; and our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving this website, where those interests do not override your rights.
You have the right to be informed about how your data is used; to request access to your personal data; to have inaccurate data corrected; to request deletion; to restrict or object to processing, including direct marketing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
You can stop SMS messages at any time by following the opt-out instruction in the message or by contacting us. Because we do not store personal data, a request about SMS records will usually need to be directed to the third-party controller that sent the message — tell us what you need and we will identify the controller and pass your request on.

We do not retain personal data beyond what is needed to complete the immediate task. SMS data is held only for the moment of transmission, together with the minimum technical delivery logs our telecoms partners require for network accounting and fraud prevention. Analytics data is retained by Google under its own retention settings.
We share data only with the parties needed to complete the processing described above: licensed Nigerian mobile network operators and SMS aggregators, our website hosting and analytics providers, and the third-party controller that engaged us. We do not sell personal data.
Some of these providers process data outside Nigeria. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards permitted by sections 41 to 43 of the NDPA, including adequate-protection determinations and contractual data-protection commitments with each provider.
In line with section 39 of the NDPA, we apply appropriate technical and organisational measures — encryption in transit, access control, and least-privilege handling — to protect data while it is in our care. If a breach occurs that is likely to risk your rights, we will notify the NDPC within 72 hours and inform affected individuals where required.
This site and the AfriMillions lottery are strictly for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly process the personal data of children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will act immediately.
We use only the cookies needed to run the site and the Google Analytics cookies described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will continue to work.
